The Take Back the Night Walk is for women to walk together in solidarity without fear, to reclaim the dark streets and raise awareness about violence against women. Women participants will meet at 6:30pm at the Women's Resource Centre on Selby Street and will walk together to Maffeo Sutton Park. There our male allies are welcome to join us for the Sisters in Spirit Vigil which is a time to acknowledge and remember the missing and murdered aboriginal women of Canada.
October 4th is a National day of action to remember the missing women of Canada, and call for justice and a public inquiry into the disproportionate violence that aboriginal women face in our communities.
Maffeo Sutton Park concludes with speeches and hot drinks.
