OPTING BACK INTO THE PLAN
If you lose your alternate extended coverage and wish to be re-added to the VIU Students' Union plan, you can do so within thirty days of losing your extended alternate coverage. You are required to provide proof that the coverage that you used to opt-out with has been cancelled. To be re-added to the plan you must be a full-time student taking the majority of your classes on the Nanaimo Campus. Please visit the Students' Union office in Building 193 for more information if you wish to have your status with the plan reinstated.
OPTING IN A DEPENDENT
Students who are receiving the MSU benefits plan can add spouses and dependents onto the plan. To add a spouse or dependents the following fees apply:
One addition (spouse or child): $275 (Subject to change)
More than one addition (spouse and dependent(s), dependents): $460 (Subject to change)
Please visit the Vancouver Island University Students' Union office in Building 193 if you are interested in adding family members to the plan. All add-ons are subject to the same deadlines as opting-out of the plan.
